There comes an end to the civil war. However, the Coalition’s victory for control over the Core Worlds has come at a great cost. The Coalition Navy is in pursuit of the remnant Rebel forces, now scattered amongst the stars of the Outer Rim. A mandate has been issued to expand into these independent planets, in a bid to rearm and rebuild the economy.
Lured by the abundance of untouched land and resources, private Corporations are taking advantage of the Navy's advance to safely establish themselves in the new sectors. However, defeated Rebels are not the only inhabitants these "invaders'' will find…
The Outer Rim planets have coexisted free from conventional law, home to savages, marauders, smugglers and die-hard desperados. Inhabitants have taken to the skies as freelancing pilots and wandering nomads. Living from one paycheck to the next, these crews are the lifeblood of the Outer Rim, keen to get the job done, and get paid. Blockade running, battling pirates, transporting precious cargo and a multitude of other legal and less than legal contracts are the bread and butter of these crews.
Organised crime thrived during the civil war. Due to the strain on law enforcement and surge in arms trading, powerful Criminal Factions have emerged with their pirate fleets to block out the skies of those refusing to pay into their luxurious, hedonistic lifestyle.
The Rebels, freedom fighters to some and terrorists to others, are rapidly deploying their squadrons of ragtag starfighters in a last-ditch effort to hold back the Coalition as they regroup and seek allies.

What kind of Megagame is it?
Starships & Six Shooters is a space-western megagame with a strong focus on roleplaying and operations. Players will gather as independent starship crews or representatives of the great factions to determine the fate of the galaxy. All players have strong involvement with the core board game mechanics and collective narrative.
What type of Teams & Roles are there?
The teams are composed of four members and split into two types - the Independent Starship crews and the various political, outlaw and corporate Factions.
Roles within the Faction teams roughly fall into three types; Tactical roles are for players who like to achieve goals for their team and challenge the opposition. Diplomatic roles are for players who like to negotiate and work on deals with other teams. Support roles are for players who like to focus on their broader team objectives and work together with their team to achieve them. Regardless of role type, all faction members have the same level of involvement in the operational game mechanics.
Starship teams have two role types; Command roles are for players who wish to captain or manage a ship and it's crew. Specialist roles are for players who like to negotiate/trade with other teams with the flexibility to swap positions with other ship teams. Both types have the same level of involvement in the starship-based game mechanics.

The game is on the 20th August 2022 at Leytonstone School in London and we are taking sign-ups now. Just complete the form below letting us know you are interested in playing and if you have any preference in team or role. We absolutely welcome team sign ups too - so if you want to play with a group of friends that let us know all their names and email addresses at the same time.
As with all our games a player role is priced at £30 for the whole day (those selected for Control will play for free) - you can sign up now and we'll ask for payment about two months before the event. This delay is included to ensure players are still able to play the game and avoid unnecessary cancellations. However it is still possible to cancel after payment and you can read our refund policy here.
Then as we get closer to the event we will send out the cast list a month before the game and handbooks about two weeks ahead of game day.
